Today The Berrics puts together a interview with Danny Montoya for the Aberrican Times

Danny Montoya handles a two trick line on the streets of Downtown LA in this short but sweet clip from Mighty Healthy NYC. We had a chance to catch up with Danny and see what he’s been up to and how he got hooked up with Mighty Healthy. Check out the short interview below.

Mighty Healthy is a New York City based company. How’d you get hooked up with the team?

Ray (Mate’) and Gino (Iannucci) pretty much made it happen. Thanks buddies! They basically wanted some west coast representation and we were all friends anyhow so it worked out perfectly.

Between running BLVD and helping out with Mighty Healthy, how do you find time to skate?

Thats a good question. Time management is of the essence these days. I just have to dedicate certain days to office duties then other days to skateboarding . It’s always nice to go on a road trip as well since those times are focused on just skating and documenting etc.

You just got back from a BLVD trip to Brasil. How was that?

Man it was pretty amazing. Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are beautiful cities. It’s also a huge bonus to be connected with friends and affiliates that live there. The people in Brasil are really welcoming and hospitable. I hadn’t been on a trip in a while so it was good to get away and get some inspiration in Braza nation.

We know you’re a fan of food, because of your instagram feed. Did you get to eat a lot of amazing Brazilian food?

Haha Yes indeedy! We all definitely indulged in the fine brazilian delicacies. Fresh juices, acai bowls, quality meats and vegetables everyday.

Are you part of the steady eating crew?

I can’t say I am. Your going to have to ask Rob g or Jose Rojo about that.

Is Rob G’s appetite ever satisfied, or does he sometimes steal food from the homes plates?

He definitely can beast out when it comes to eating. If the Gorilla is hungry and you have food left over it may end up getting snatched up!

The BLVD roster is getting pretty stacked. Who does the team consist of? You guys have any new riders coming soon?

Its Rob G, Danny Supa, Rodrigo Petersen, Nate Fantasia, Jose Pereyra, Jordan Sanchez, Billy Davenport here in the States and Tiago Llemos and Carlos Ique in Brazil.

Is there a BLVD video in the works?

Yes the next Video is catered around the ams on the team but it will have all the pros in it for sure. That was a major reason why we all went to Brasil to work on the video and gain some content that has the BLVD look and feel. So much good looking footage was shot on this past trip. Im psyched to see all come together.

Music has a big influence on your skating and life, what have you been listening to lately?

Man I guess it depends on what mood I’m in or the time of the day but in Brasil I was listening to a lot of Paul Simon and this Brasilian funk mix that DJ Spinna made. Im kinda all over the place lately with music, I’m always down to hear something ive never heard before and determine whether i like it or not. It makes me feel stagnant when I just have the same Ol music. I need to always be seeking something new.

You’ve had a pretty serious beard in your recent footage, are you still rocking the mountain man look?

Haha no I ended up shaving it all off cuz it was a little too much I guess. I had a little personal bet to grow it all out but it felt good to have a fresh cut now
